The ADVANTAGEOUS LIFE - By Pastor Abraham Bascon
ASK, and it shall be given you; SEEK, and ye shall find; KNOCK, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7-8
To ASK God means: "to crave," "to call for," "to require...." What is it that YOU have asked God for? We all have needs, and God wants to supply them for us! And, God tells us just how to do it! SEARCH the scriptures, to gain UNDERSTANDING of what God commands us to do. With the understanding of God's Word, we can then KNOCK upon the doors to heaven by way of the wonderful gift of Prayer to our Heavenly Father! PRAYER is POWERFUL!
Our God is a God of MIRACLES! Nothing is too difficult for Him! (JEREMIAH 32:27) Jesus tells us in JOHN 10:10 that He wants us to experience "The Abundant Life" here on earth! In JOHN 16:7 - Jesus says: "Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your ADVANTAGE that I go away: for if I do not go away, the Helper (the Holy Spirit) will not come to you; but, if I depart, I will send Him to you."
Believers of the Lord Jesus Christ have the ADVANTAGE, the ABUNDANT LIFE! God's Word is full of Promises, He makes His conditions listed in DEUTERONOMY 28, very clear to us: "IF" you will OBEY His Word, you will be the head and not the tail; you will be above only, and not beneath, "IF" you heed the commandments of the Lord your God! "IF" is such a very small word; but, is so important to how much God desires to BLESS His children! And, how can a person OBEY God's Word if they DO NOT know God's Word? In JOHN 16, Jesus tells us that the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, will convict the world of sin. In verse 13, Jesus says: The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. Verse 14- He(Holy Spirit) will glorify Me,(Jesus) for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you! The Holy Spirit comes to glorify Jesus! In 1 COR.6:19-20, Apostle Paul refers to the body of the believer as the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own! Verse 20-YOU (Believer) were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's!
BELIEVERS....Take a deep breath of faith! GOD is inside of YOU!
While being the temple of the Holy Spirit, BELIEVERS are God's hands, His feet, His eyes, His ears and His mouthpiece! We are all commissioned by the Lord Jesus Christ to "GO into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these "signs" shall follow those who BELIEVE: In My name they will cast out demons: they will speak with new tongues; .....they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." MARK 16:15-20 And they went out and preached everywhere,the Lord working with them and confirming the Word through the accompanying signs. Amen.
When we share the Gospel of Christ with the world, we are glorifying JESUS! By taking His Word to the world, we are being obedient to His Great Commission! We need to take "all" of ourselves to share the Gospel with others! The world needs to hear the Gospel, the Good News! They need to know that they too can experience the Advantageous Life! They too can have the ADVANTAGE over the world and all that it offers!
Just knowing where we are going to spend eternity is an awesome ADVANTAGE!
CHRISTIANS need to get into God's Word, get understanding, get instruction get the ADVANTAGE!!
