HOW TO SEE & ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD (JOHN 3: 1-18)
BY: Pastor Abraham Bascon

1. The content of Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus is:
How can one SEE and ENTER the Kingdom of God?

NICODEMUS' PROFILE: He was a Jewish Ruler, a Pharisee and a Teacher of Israel (v.10). He came to Jesus by night because He didn’t want to give any false impression that he was a follower of Christ. However, he was inquisitive. He knew that Jesus was a Teacher come from God, because of the miracles that He did.
2. Verses 3-9, the conversation begins.
3. JESUS says, that one can’t see nor enter the Kingdom of God unless
they are born-again (vs. 5-8).
4. NICODEMUS answers, “How can this be?” (vs.9)
5. JESUS questions Nicodemus, “You’re a teacher of Israel, and you don’t know these things?” (vs.10)

6. JESUS to Nicodemus, “If I told you earthly things, and you don’t believe, how will you believe when I tell you heavenly things?” (vs. 12)
7. Now, JESUS answers Nicodemus’ question on how to become born-again in (vs.4).
8. Verse 13, as the Son of Man, He is qualified to speak of heavenly things because His home is in heaven.
9. NICODEMUS can't make heads or tails of what JESUS is saying here; for, at this point in time, Nicodemus is unable to discern spiritual things (1 Cor.2:13-14).

10. The SIMILARITIES between JESUS and the NEHUSHTAN of
(Numbers 21: 4-9, 2 Kings 18:4).
a. The Nehushtan was the FORESHADOW of Jesus.
b. By looking up at the lifted-up Nehushtan, God forgave them
of their sins, took away the poisonous venom from their bodies
and they lived and did not die.
c. On the other hand, FAITH IN JESUS takes away the poisonous
venom of sin, (Romans 5:12-14)
WE are forgiven, justified, and made the righteousness of God through
Christ, and we become born-again of the Spirit of God.
Then, we get water baptized IN JESUS (Romans 6: 3-4).
d. Verses 17-18, praise the Lord, we are NOT condemned
because we BELIEVE in GOD and JESUS.

11. One last thing, notice: vs. 15 says, ETERNAL life, and vs. 16 says
EVERLASTING life.
a. There is a difference between the two.
b. 1 John 5:20 says, we are in Him, we are in Jesus, and this is the
True God and Eternal Life. But, it also says that we may know
Him. In other words, we have a RELATIONSHIP with HIM.
c. Eternal Life is in us because Jesus is inside of us!!
d. He has given us an understanding to know Him!

12. Everlasting life is the life we receive when we believe that Jesus is
God the Father's Nehushtan.
a. It is an EVER LASTING life, a life without an end, a life with God
forever and ever, for all of eternity.

13. The bottom line is this, eternal life (Jesus, God) is what you receive inside of you.
Everlasting life is the promise of God, that will never expire.
a. And the good news is, you receive both of these gifts the moment
that you believe in Christ, and that's God's promise!!!
b. Without these two gifts from God, it is impossible to see and enter
the kingdom of God because you have to be born-again.
c. So why don't you REPENT NOW, and have the poisonous venom
of sin TAKEN AWAY from YOU? BELIEVE GOD and RECEIVE
ETERNAL and EVERLASTING LIFE NOW, and be ABLE to SEE
and ENTER GOD'S KINGDOM!!
