JESUS IS OUR JUBILEE
The gesture of water baptism was practiced even when the high priest was behind the curtain in the Holy of Holies. The Lord told them that they needed to present themselves purely before the Lord, then put on their holy garments before performing their priestly duties in the temple. This practice goes back even before John the Baptist and Jesus. So, this practice was not strange to the Jewish nation, for they themselves practiced the same, similar to what John the Baptist was doing. But remember, John the Baptist could not forgive sins. Only God could forgive sin!!. So, although John's baptism was of Repentance, he didn't have the power to forgive sin. Jesus' baptism includes the forgiveness of sin.

So, there is a difference between the three types of baptism that the Jewish population witnessed. First: The Baptism of Purification Second, the Baptism of John and Third: Jesus' Baptism for Forgiveness of Sin. So, even when folks came to be baptized by John, there were multitudes of witnesses there...and when Jesus approached John, John said: O' no Lord, it is You who should baptize me! John was flab-a-gas-ted! Jesus told him:: For the sake of all Righteousness, let it be done. So, John baptized Jesus.
Now, Jesus was one-hundred percent divine and one-hundred percent human. So the part of Jesus that was being baptized wasn't the divine part. For Jesus was God Himself, and God doesn't have to be baptized. So, it had to be the humanity side of Jesus, that He was being baptized.

Now, when a person walks in all righteousness, that person is walking under the approval of God. This is what God approves of. He approves that you walk in righteousness! Jesus humbled himself by going into the water and being baptized by a person that He created. What humility! The Creator was being baptized by someone He created! Such humility!! But he did it for the sake of all righteousness! When Jesus commanded His disciples to baptize in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, they were obedient; because, they were following the example of Jesus! Scripture says: In all things, Jesus is the First-Fruit. He resurrected from the dead first; then, the Church, the Believers. So, Jesus expects His disciples to do likewise!
When you get saved, born-again, and water baptized, being water baptized, is not an option. It isn't. However, many Christians think that it is an option, it isn't! Some Christians feel that they will get water baptized at a time of their convenience.
Jesus was baptized publicly....and Jesus says: you need to repent and be baptized in the name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, for the forgiveness of your sins; then, you shall receive the Holy Spirit. So, if that is the case, if you haven't been water baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, you should want to be, in order to follow your leader, Jesus!
Then, after Jesus was baptized, He began to walk towards the shore. As He did, three things happened as an approval of Jesus' righteousness, an approval by God: 1.) Remember there were multitudes of people there! The heavens opened! There's an opening; and, that is what happened when Jesus walked out of the water. 2.) There was the approval of God the Father, or rather...the descent of the Holy Spirit upon Jesus, and He came in the form like a dove.
3.) When the voice came from heaven giving approval of what Jesus had done, and what He was about to do, the voice of approval says: "You are My Beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased!" God, the Father made it public that Jesus was His Son! God made this a public fact! Then, immediately, the Holy Spirit led Jesus out into the wilderness and Jesus was being tempted for 40 days in the desert. Scripture says: That the Devil could not tempt Jesus. And Jesus in response, spoke out the Word!

Jesus went to certain villages after, and He attended the synagogue on the Sabbath, after the 40 days. Now, that shows us that Jesus who was born a Jew, was under the Law, He obediently practiced the Law.

Now, all that changed after His crucifixion and resurrection. Remember, He was sent or led by the Spirit out into the wilderness, then out to the villages to preach the Gospel by the Power of the Holy Spirit.
Consider, that because of the preaching of the Word, signs and wonders were also present to confirm Jesus' Word. Now, in Luke 4:14 Then Jesus returned...how? In the Power of the Holy Spirit. And in Galilee, news of Him went out throughout all the surrounding regions. For He went to these places in the Power of the Holy Spirit, and signs and wonders followed him in the preaching of the Gospel. The people were amazed and astonished seeing Jesus presenting the scriptures with Power. And the folks were able to plainly understand when Jesus read and expounded on the scriptures!

Then, in Galilee, He came to Nazareth where He was brought up. That is why He was referred to as Jesus of Nazareth. Then, as it was the custom, He stood up to read in the synagogue...and Jesus read: The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me.....because He has anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor. IS.61. He said to preach the Gospel to the poor, not to the
financially poor, but the poor in spirit! The humble ones!
You can't be born-again without humbling yourself before the Lord. You must admit to God that you are a sinner, and ask God to forgive you of your sins. God, I am a failure, I need your help! You expose your weak-nesses to God. That is the action of a humble person! Help me, forgive me, I need you! Those are the things a humble person would say to God.

Then, Jesus continues to read what was written by the Prophet Isaiah in IS.61- THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD is upon Me..etc,.then, in LUKE 4:19.
Now in IS.61, YOU will see that the passage contains more scriptures in IS.61. Such as the verse: To proclaim the Acceptable Year of the Lord. After reading the scripture, Jesus, then rolled up the scroll, and returned it to the attendant. And, all eyes were focused on Jesus! They were now expecting to hear Jesus elaborate on the scriptures that He had just read; and, to continue preaching and teaching on them. Then Jesus said: "This day, today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing." T-O-D-A-Y, not tommorrw, not next year....this scripture, in Isaiah's prophecy pertaining to the Messiah, is fulfilled t-o-d-a-y! Like, Jesus was saying to these Jewish folks: I am The Proclaimer of this Good News, that the Prophet Isaiah spoke about! I am The Proclaimer of the Acceptable Year of the Lord. WOW!! Is this what You are trying to tell us?...What Isaiah spoke about? That the Holy Spirit has fallen upon You? It wasn't too long ago that Jesus had been water baptized, when three things happened: The Holy Spirit came upon Jesus, and the Father said: "You are My Beloved Son in whom I am well-pleased." Now, when Jesus says: This day, this scripture is fulfilled in your ears...the Spirit of the Lord is upon Me...etc.. The scripture goes on to say: Because He has anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor. Jesus was anointed, and one of the reasons was to preach the Gospel to the humble, who would accept the Gospel. Apostle Paul said: I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, to preach the Gospel of Salvation. The Gospel explains how to receive Salvation from the Lord. So, Jesus said: "Today this scripture is fulfilled. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted." How many people have experienced broken-heartedness? There are many reasons for a broken heart. What about your honey, when he leaves you for another honey. What about when you worked for forty years at a job and someone tells you goodbye? Or, when sickness and disease comes upon you; and, you have four weeks to hear from the Lord, and do you jump up and down and rejoice? Shouting, hallelujah! I'm going to die in four weeks!! No way! How many have experienced a broken-heart? Is it a good feeling? No!
My Mom's cousin's family were poor, and, my grandfather who was their uncle had a business. It was a little grocery store. He couldn't run it anymore, so he sold the business to the family. Now, there were no men in that family, there were all females who had worked very hard at the little grocery store. Now, I'm talking 60-70 yrs ago. And, maybe some of you can remember like I can, when the fruit that was being sold, was wrapped up individually with paper. When they unloaded the oranges to sell, this family saved the paper product and used it for toilet paper. Being frugal like that, eventually, they saved up enough money to buy the property behind the grocery store. And some time later, the state bought the property from the family. And this was in the Waikiki area. An expensive area even then. Now, what happed was, I found out that the Mother was sick and was going to die. Her accountant reported to her that, with the land that she had purchased not only in HI; but, also in Tokyo Japan...that she was informed that she was the wealthiest person of her race. When she heard that, she didn't want to die!! Now there were no males in the family. But, one of the daughters fell madly in love with a man, with a different name. The daughter was madly in love with this guy, but her Mother said: no way will he marry you without changing his name. The man didn't want to change his name. Eventually that relationship broke up. She is my second cousin. When she and her boyfriend broke up, she mourned and eventually died of a broken heart. I shared this story with you to show you the seriousness of having a broken heart. Jesus says: He was sent to heal the brokenhearted. He is the only medicine for a broken heart!. To proclaim liberty to the captives...you and me!
We were slaves to sin, under the bondage of sin; but, God says: He has set us free from the bondage of sin. And sin shall not have dominion over you!! Jesus says: I was sent to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind! Those who were blind to the Gospel, were blinded by Satan. For if they heard the Gospel they would have been set free! Satan keeps them lusting in the flesh, to experience temporary lustful pleasures!! I want to say this to you...Lusting in the flesh is just for temporary
pleasures! Satan uses this tool to keep you blind from the Gospel of Life, Truth, Light, the Gospel of God!
Satan will do all in his power to keep you away from God. Satan is not a wimp!! How many were tempted by Satan? If you haven't been, you need to share it with me, because even Jesus was tempted for 40 days by the devil! If you have no tempting...Satan already has you under his bondage! But Jesus, according to Romans, says to Adam: His one offense brought unto all mankind sin! Romans says: “By one act, Jesus set free all those who were slaves to sin...and He did it ONCE FOR ALL!!“ That's what Jesus did!! If you are still walking in sin, I want to say this to you: Satan is the Father of Lies, He has tricked you, convinced you, that you are powerless to sin! Addicted to sin! You can't help but to sin. Satan is the Father of ALL Lies! Jesus says: He was a murderer from the beginning. Have nothing to do with him! I'll tell you why Satan is lying to you…..because 2000 years ago, the Bearer of the Good News, was able to give sight to the blind, to heal the brokenhearted, to set the captives free from the bondage of sin by giving Himself as our “sin-offering.” By His precious Blood given in the Most Holy Place in heaven, He made Atonement for us, and obtained Eternal Redemption!! It means that the power of sin was broken 2000 years ago!! You don't have to walk in sin! Don't believe the devil, believe The Proclaimer of the Good News, Jesus!!
The Acceptable Year of the Lord, as in Isaiah, is in reference to Jubilee. In the Book of Lev.25, in the Year of Jubilee, everything that was sold: land, possessions and even people being sold to other people etc...In the Year of Jubilee all debts that you owed were wiped out!! The Year of Jubilee is the Acceptable Year of the Lord! Jesus was saying I am The Proclaimer of the Acceptable Year of Jubilee!! The Year of Jubilee is the 50th year, And God was very specific when He gave the instructions that His Word had to be followed to the 'T' ! He told them, to take seven Sabbaths of seven weeks 7x7=49 and, what is after 49? 50! At the end of Jubilee all debts had to come back! Every person would have to be set free!!! How we need a Jubilee today!!
When Jesus said I am The Proclaimer of the Acceptable Year of the Lord, it refers to the Year of Jubilee. Now, when they counted off the 49 years, the 50th year, Jubilee had to fall on the feast of the Day of Atonement. The Day of Atonement was the day the High Priest went behind the curtain to make atonement for the people's sins.
Is it an incident that the Day of Atonement fell on the day of Jubilee? No! You could say that JESUS is the JUBILEE! He is the one who sets us free!! He is our Jubilee!! How many of you at one time or another, have experienced oppression? It's a bad thing. Sometimes you feel that you just can't shake it. Oppression can be a demon. The demon oppresses you. How? Mentally, emotionally, physically....He oppresses you with all different types of substance abuse...etc.. You don't want to be involved with abusing your body with substances. You don't want to say: I want to be set free; but, I'm addicted. If you confess you are addicted, guess what? You are addicted! But, if you confess that Jubilee, Jesus, has delivered you 2000 years ago,, you will be set free! Life and death is in the power of your tongue!! What you confess is what you are going to be!! Why not confess that you are a Child of God? Why not confess that 2000 years of Jubilee has set you free!! Why not confess that?? Jesus came to give you the The Advantageous Life! in JOHN 10:10!! Believe that Jesus is the Jubilee! If you are a true born-again, believer of the Lord Jesus Christ, He is your Jubilee!! Thank You Jesus!
