LET HIM PRAY---BELIEVING By: Pastor Abraham Bascon

2 CORINTHIANS 5:17 - Tells us: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, ALL things have become NEW." That is awesome news for every believer! It is a wonderful thing to have a clear understanding of God's Word. Our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ grows so quickly when we know His Word. Unfortunately, there are so many folks who do not know God's Word; and as a result, they are not very firm believers, if they are at all. At first, even James, the Lord's brother did not believe that Jesus was the Son of God. But, after Jesus resurrected; well, that changed everything! Jesus was not just an ordinary man; but, He was an extrodinary man and the Second Person of the Godhead!
Jesus was GOD in the flesh! Now, with this new 'revelation knowledge,' God has this to say in JAMES 5:11-"Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the LORD -- that the LORD is very compassionate and mericiful." As we study scripture, we see that Job suffered alot. He loss great wealth, family members and he was stricken with terrible disease even as he was going through all of his trials. The Old Testament Book of Job tells us that though Job suffered intensly, in the end, he was very blest! God multiplied not only Job's material possessions and extended his family; but, he received restoration and was restored with the relationship that he had with God! Job's ending, was intended by God! Job never gave up! He continued to believe; and, his faith in God brought him great restoration and blessing! Some of us may have losses such as jobs, material things, finances, loss of sleep and just totally stressed out. And, stress is a terrible thing to be under! Now if we read on to JAMES 5:13-16 it is as if the Holy Spirit is asking this question: "Is anyone among you suffering? LET HIM PRAY. Is anyone cheerful? Let him SING psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him CALL for the elders of the church, and let THEM PRAY over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the PRAYER OF FAITH will SAVE (heal) the sick, and the LORD will raise him up. "And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and PRAY for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent (burning) prayer of a righteous man avails much." What we can conclude after reading these verses of scripture, is that the answer to a person who is under great stress, is to PRAY. PRAYER IS THE ANSWER! The Holy Spirit says: if you are suffering and need help, if you want relief--PRAY!
God doesn't even charge you to PRAY! And, prayer is talking to God. In Philippians 4:6 God tells us: "Be careful(anxious) for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." And, God tells us,if we PRAY according to His Word, He will deliver you, and you will glorify Him! Jer 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. And, PSALM 50:14-15 says: "Offer to God thanksgiving, And pay your vows to the Most High. Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I WILL DELIVER YOU, and YOU SHALL glorify ME." God is telling us to: CALL UPON HIM in PRAYER, and HE WILL DELIVER US from our TROUBLES! So SIMPLE! Not at all complicated! JAMES 5:14 - If any of you are sick, let him call for the elders and let them PRAY over the person who is sick, and the elders will anoint them with oil in the Name of the Lord! When they are obedient to God, God will raise them up!
PRAYER is such a POWERFUL TOOL for a Christian! And they get MIRACULOUS results! The PRAYER of FAITH will heal the sick and the LORD will raise them up! The PRAYER of FAITH, there is POWER in the PRAYER of FAITH...even MIRACULOUS POWER! To have FAITH, is to rely entirely upon God. To have complete trust, confidence and dependence on God! We rely, trust and depend upon Him! The kind of "trust" we are speaking of is like: God says: "Jump!" And we say: "How high Lord?" God's Word clearly tells us that: "Without faith, it is IMPOSSIBLE to PLEASE GOD!"
HEBREWS 11:6. So faith is necessary in order to please God! If you are looking to be restored, healed, delivered etc... you need to PRAY! God wants us to PRAY the PRAYER of FAITH! Totally
to depend upon HIM! Totally trust Him that HE IS ABLE to HEAL, to even do the MIRACULOUS! And, He does!! And, God even tells us HOW to receive the miraculous from Him. He says: to PRAY!!
Thank You Lord for Your Word! Thank You for Your precious Promises! The Lord Jesus Christ has the authority to HEAL us! And He encourages each of us to PRAY to receive your healing. PRAY to receive whatever needs that you may have! PRAY WITHOUT
CEASING! 1Th 5:17-"Pray without ceasing." God clearly tells us:
Mat 21:22 "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." Mar 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. When you PRAY for healing or deliverance etc.. don't ask thinking that it is too big for God to do. Or, perhaps think that if you ask God for certain things, you might be acting selfishly. No! Not at all! God wants us to ASK! For example: God doesn't want us to have the attitude that healing might just be possible for me! But rather, totally trust God and PRAY the PRAYER of faith! Anoint the sick (yourself also, if you are sick), with the oil of healing. And, the sick shall be healed! And, if you are the sick one, you will be healed! PRAY BELIEVING every word of God's Promises! The teachings and principles of God's Word pertain to every believer individually and cooperately as a body! No matter what we are going through: physically, mentally, emotionally etc... God is personally concerned with each one of us, and He wants us to ASK! We are blest to be able to receive not only healing for our bodies; but, also a restoration of our relationship with God! If you pray and ask forgiveness, God says: You will receive forgiveness! God's Word tells us to confess our sins to God. (1Peter1:9) If one has committed sin, and does this, they will be restored! Confess your trespasses to one another and PRAY for one another! However, be sure that whoever you do CONFESS and PRAY with is truly a trustworthy person in Christ. One that you can be sure will not slander you. Confess trespasses to one another and PRAY for one another. And, acting by God's Word, you can overcome every problem! PRAYING the PRAYER of FAITH that you may be healed. In JAMES 5:16- We are told that: "The effectual, fervent PRAYER of a righteous man avails MUCH." It ought to be a 'God-fearing, righteous' person that you confess your sins to! Here in JAMES 5:17, God gives us an example: Elijah, had the same kind of nature as we have. And, as much as we have the Lord today, we still mess up at times. Elijah was fervent in PRAYING the PRAYER of FAITH. Imagine: it did not rain in the land for three and a half years as the result of one man PRAYING! Then the Word tells us that Elijah PRAYED again; and, he prayed that God would not hold back the rain. And, after three and a half years of no rain, it rained 'cats and dogs!'
This is God's Word! We serve, we love, we call upon our Abba Father (Daddy), who encourages us to call upon Him in PS.50.
God tells us: "Call upon Me, and I will fix you up!" And, as a result that God does these things for us; we GLORIFY HIM! God makes a promise; and He stands behind His Word! He sent His Word to HEAL us and to DELIVER us from ALL of our afflictions!
Psa 107:20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. In ISAIAH 53:5 God tells us: "He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed." Thank You Jesus! All WE have to do is to BELIEVE and PRAY! Lord bless you!
